In line with the increase in the number of students for each intake, UPM has prepared a variety of facilities to improve the learning process, either formally or informally, while maintaining the same comfortable feeling among the students. Sultan Abdul Samad Library, UPM, is the benchmark of the advancement in knowledge mastery that fills the air in its every corner.

It has a special 2-block building that covers a land area of 17,652 square meters. The library is fully air-conditioned and can seat approximately 2,000 students at any one time, not including the separate meeting room, discussion room, and the auditorium, to name just a few. The book racks can hold 500,000 copies of books and reading materials. Two other faculty libraries like the library of the Faculty of Medical Veterinary and Faculty of Medical and Health Science provide more specific reference materials for students who are specializing in those areas. There is also a branch library in UPM Bintulu campus in Sarawak.
